1999 / 00 Lee joined the club at the request
of his cousin Darren who was reserve team manager at the time. Being naturally aggressive and
possessing a commitment to hard work, he immediately found a place for himself in the middle of the
park and received the captains armband through the next two seasons.
2000 / 01 Lee was instrumental in the reserves good run and proudly took the
pitch as captain for the final. 2001 / 02 Lee was
moved to right midfield for the season and showed a knack for getting good crosses into the box,
something that he was earmarked for when given that role. He relinquished the captains armband
partly due to the fact that his role took him out wider and hence away from the middle of the park
where the action was. He still showed a commitment to those around him, passing on encouragement
and advice at all times. He made a team high 26 appearances, scored 4 good goals and finished the
season enjoying the team's winning league run to the third Division title. 2002 / 03
Lee decided to move across to league rivals Barclay where most of his close friends
play at the start of the season. |
