Adrian joined the club at the start of the 2000/01 season initially to strengthen the reserves squad, but his pace and skill soon caught the eye of the first team manager and by Christmas 2000 he had already cemented his place as a striker alongside Spencer Chapman. He was instrumental in the teams run to the Division One Cup Final, beating favourites Knebworth 3-1.
