Alan joined the club like many of the other young players on his
sixteenth birthday and had immediate success with a mixture of fast pace, a scintillating left foot,
enjoying his first senior year in 1996 with the first team.
1998 / 99
He was a part of the Division Two double winning side of 1998/99 but
then struggled with injuries the following season, breaking a leg at the start of the 1999/00 season.
2000 / 01
He enjoyed nearly a full season with the
reserves and was prolific as a striker for this campaign, helping the team to their first cup final
that season and winning the reserves Golden Boot award.
2001 / 02
He missed the start of the campaign, but came back in early october and took his
customary left midfield position. He had another outstanding year, if he had scored half of his
attempts on goal he would have reached 30 goals easily such was his pace all season. He started 22
times for the reserves, scoring 16 goals to finish second in the Golden Boot and was instrumental
in the teams march to Division 3 league honours and to two cup finals, a first in the club's history.
2002 / 03
Alan wanted to play a higher standard of
football and so moved to league rivals Little Munden in the Premier Division. He is now playing with
the same team, but in the County League.
