Darren joined the club along with his twin brother Dean when the first team moved down to the second division. He soon made the position his own with his no nonsense approach to the game and immediately won the respect of the players around him, so much so that he was awarded the captains armband in only his second season with the club.

2000 / 01

Darren led the team out for the Division One cup final against Knebworth and proudly lifted the trophy as captain after an inspired performance in the game, winning 3-1. He also won 1st team Manager's Player finishing off one of his best seasons in football.

2001 / 02

He again returned as Captain and led the team to an unprecedented Division 1 league Championship and completed the double with a fine cup victory over local rivals Inter. He left the club in 2002 and moved away to Norfolk with his parents.
