Darren played a very large part in the club's early success. He was
the work horse of the midfield, and was a gifted footballer who was inspirational as captain for the
club. He enjoyed the club's first four league titles in as many years, two divisional cup titles, a jubilee cup win, and was Captain for the Herts. Junior Cup Final in 1996. He suffered a career ending injury in a game in 1997, suffering a double fracture of his left leg and a pin was inserted down the lower half. He never played another game for the club, and through Sticko's woes, so the club went in the same direction that season, not winning a cup for the first time in it's history. Along with a few other players who won't be mentioned, he was the joker of the club and was a large part of the many stories you will find in the Dark Side of this site. |
