2000 / 01   -   James waited until he was eligible on his sixteenth birthday to join the club. He played in a few games but found the pace and toughness of senior football a far cry from his days in a local youth side.

The club will commit to him though because he has shown like his brother Alan, tremendous skill and pace, and harnessed with a more mature football brain he will flourish up front for the reserves.

2001 / 02   -   James struggled to get in the side with the two current strikers showing such good form, but he did earn a valuable nickname in 'Ole Gunner Solskaer', coming on many times to score the winning goal, none more so than in the Divisional cup semi final against Buntingford. Given only the last twenty minutes to make a difference he scored seven minutes from time to take the team into the final. James was a sub in nineteen appearances for the Reserves', but still scored seven goals to finish 5th in the Golden Boot, a credible feat indeed.

2002 / 03   -   James was struggling to play for the Reserves' due to work commitments. He made just three starts but still managed to score two goals. He hasn't played for the club since the Reserves folded in January.
