Joe was seen at nearly every game in the club's first five
successful seasons. He was often heard remonstrating with the management squad about team selection and player tactics. Those around him often thought that he must have played at a very high level at some point in his career, such was his insight into the game. It took the club five years to learn that he couldn't even get into Ponders End Tigers, some obscure Sunday morning side! Joe is still seen at some games, but his enthusiasm for the game has gone after receiving so much ridicule for his past non exploits. |
